Editorial Review Policy

How we select operators, form our editorial scores, and maintain independence from the operators we compare.

Editorial independence

Our editorial content — including comparison scores, review notes, and operator descriptions — is produced independently of our commercial affiliate relationships. The team responsible for writing and scoring operators does not negotiate affiliate commission rates, and commission rates do not feed into scoring decisions.

Operators cannot pay for improved coverage, higher scores, or more prominent placement in our comparison tables. Inclusion in our comparison set is based on the criteria below, not on payment.

Operator selection

We only include operators that hold a current licence from the UK Gambling Commission and are actively accepting UK players at the time of review. Operators that lose their UKGC licence are removed from the comparison.

Within those criteria, we focus on operators that have a meaningful market presence and a sufficient track record to assess. Newly launched operators may not be included until they have been operating for a reasonable period.

We maintain a limited comparison set deliberately. A smaller set allows us to review operators with more care than would be possible across hundreds of listings.

Scoring methodology

Scores are assigned on a scale of 0 to 10. In practice, operators in our comparison set tend to score between 7 and 9. The score is a composite of assessments across six editorial criteria:

  • Site usability (navigation, layout, mobile experience)
  • Payment options (deposit and withdrawal method range)
  • Game variety (breadth of categories and suppliers)
  • Mobile experience (dedicated app or responsive performance)
  • Terms transparency (how clearly promotional conditions are presented)
  • Responsible gambling tools (accessibility of deposit limits, self-exclusion)

Full details of how each criterion is assessed are published on the How We Compare Casinos page.

Review accuracy and currency

Editorial reviews reflect our assessment at the time of writing. Operator features, payment options, and promotional terms can change after a review is published. We update reviews periodically but cannot guarantee that every detail is current at any given moment.

We recommend verifying details directly on the operator's site before making any decision based on our reviews. If you notice an inaccuracy in our published content, please report it via the contact page.

What our reviews do not include

Our editorial reviews do not include:

  • Verified customer testimonials — we do not publish unverified reviews from third parties
  • Financial performance data or return-to-player statistics submitted by operators
  • Sponsored or paid review content
  • Guarantees of service reliability, payout timing, or regulatory compliance
  • Advice on which operator to choose
